    Wii Hard Drive Fat32 Guide

This is a simple guide with full setup instructions for a Fat32 Hard Drive that can be used with your softmodded Wii. When using a Fat32 Hard drive with the Wii it can be used for Wii backups, NAND Emulation, homebrew apps and shared for other purposes. This eliminates the need for an SD card and using WBFS or multiple partitions. USB Loading is much faster than loading from a backup disc or retail disc.

Includes formatting, ripping/transferring backups, setting up a USB Loader, and Extras. Although it can be done, it is not recommended to format a drive Larger than 1TB to FAT32. 2TB is the Maximum.

    FAT32 Advantages

    • No Wasted WBFS Space as the partition can be shared for other purposes
    • Can be used for Wii Backups, Nand Emulation, HBC Apps
    • No need for Multiple Partitions
    • Files can be copied using regular file managers
    • Better choice of file system recovery/de-fragmentation tools
    • If the disc is already in use, no need to re-partition in most cases

**FAT32 USB Loading will only work with Hermes cIOS222/223 or with cIOSx Rev 19 +**

Hello...newbie here getting ready to try to hack my wii for the first time. I use a Mac, and I was hoping someone could provide some more specific instructions on this part of the Wii Backup Fusion program

You can use ANY of the following paths...

    USB:\wbfs\GAMEID.wbfs
    USB:\wbfs\Title [GAMEID].wbfs
    USB:\wbfs\Title [GAMEID]\GAMEID.wbfs (RECOMMENDED)
    USB:\wbfs\GAMEID_Title\GAMEID.wbfs

How do you set up a path?

The path is where the games are located on your hard drive. "USB:\" is the root of your hard drive (the first folder that opens when you click it on your PC). Inside the root you need a folder named "wbfs".Your games that you converted to .wbfs files are then transferred to your "wbfs" folder (you can do this manually or choose for WBF to save them there while converting to .wbfs files). Then you can use any of the options above for the name of your game or just leave it they way WBF named them.

If your wii isn't modded yet you will need to follow the hack any wii guide before this guide.

Was having problems with either WBFS_Open fail or no games found (at best), even though wiiback up manager could see everything.
