    The lazy mans way to add ntfs ripping support to Cfg

    I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but ntfs ripping is disabled by default on Cfg USB Loader. You have to either use Configurator or edit the config.txt file manually. I've requested that it be enabled by default, but that never happened.

    Anyway, I got tired of typing out directions. I can't just create my own config.txt file because that would remove any changes they have made to theirs. This morning I decided to make a batch file to add the line:
    ntfs_write = 1
    to your config.txt file. Just drop it in the usb-loader folder and double click it. If no config.txt file is there, it gives an error, but if there is, it prompts you on what to do. I added the last part in case you run it by accident.

    You can download the file here:

    Cool but isn't this just promoting laziness? Lol... for those who can't type ntfs_write = 1 and save it or use the simple configurator, I feel very sorry for you. Your title is a bit misleading as well as Cfg already has NTFS support by default.

    Not ripping. By default ntfs_write is set to 0. I'm sick of people asking how they are supposed to edit the config.txt file, even after I explain it perfectly. Usually I get tired after a few posts and just tell them to send me their config.txt file so I can do it for them. Now I can just say "put this in your usb-loader folder and double click it"

    Fair enough. Title is still misleading as it says nothing about ripping....so NTFS support is enabled by default and your title says it's not. Just thought it was worth mentioning as I was confused by the title because it should say ripping.

    You're right, I didn't think of that at the time. I'll change the title.

    Really this isn't useful except for cases with extreme idiots.

    K, I changed the actual title as well (forgot you couldn't edit that one). I'm not sure why that is really, it would make sense to be able to edit your own title...but whatever.

    Perhaps you could make me a temporary admin of the forum. Of course, you would have to make someone like Krafter a regular user, but I'm sure he would be cool with that.

    I think banning you would solve the problem of not being able to change your title just as well.......

    Updated. I added some new checks, better descriptions, and a threat if you can't follow simple directions.
