    Install Hermes cIOS 202,222,223,224

    All links working - 9/3/13

If you followed a Wii softmod guide from HacksDen or used ModMii, then more than likely you already have all of the Hermes cIOS installed and do not need to follow this guide. An SD card is required for this guide.

Hermes cIOS is not compatible with vWii of the Wii U, do not install this to the Wii Mode of Wii U.

Install Hermes v4 (222,223) here. If you use uLoader, scroll down to the Hermes v5.1 installer.

Hermes cIOS (222,223,224) can be used to load games when Waninkoko's cIOS will not get the job done. This will come in handy if Waninkoko's cIOS is not compatible with your USB HDD. IOS222 is also good to get a FAT32 partition recognized with a backup loader (usb loaders). IOS223 may be needed to load some games, I normally use it to get the usb microphone recognized in music games.

You need IOS236 installed to run this Hermes cIOS installer. IOS249 may work for some, but with all the different versions of IOS249 some may not work, I have changed my guide to use IOS236. Feel free to try IOS249, if it don't work then revert to IOS236. If you have IOS236 installed then skip this part.

Download IOS236 v5 installer (requires HBC 1.0.7 or higher)

    Install IOS236

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DOWNLOAD - install Hermes v4 .rar
source - uLoader v4.1 and cIOS installer v4, here

This installer will do a wifi install of the cIOS(s). If your Wii is not connected to the internet with a wifi connection then there are additional steps you must use.

    additional steps for offline install

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    INSTALL
    1. If you have previous installs of these IOS's, this installer will overwrite
those previous installs. You will not have to remove or delete any previous
      installs of these IOS's.
    2. Remove all GameCube memory cards and controllers, remove any disc that may be in the DVD slot, and unplug any usb device that may be plugged in. * This step is very important. Do not ignore it .
    3. UnRAR the Install Hermes cIOS v4 archive and copy the cIOS_installer folder to sd:/apps/
    4. copy the 00000001 folder to the root of your SD card (for offline install)
    5. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS Installer
    6. Read the warning message and push A
    7. Select IOS236 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
    8. Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38
    9. Wait for download and installation to complete
    10. Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS Installer again
    11. This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS37 merged with IOS38
    12. Hermes cIOS is now installed.
    13. Look below to install IOS202 and IOS224 from Hermes v5.1

If you are trying to do an offline install (files on the SD card) and the installer is trying to access the internet, you do not have the file setup correctly on the SD card, review the 00000001 folder and make adjustments.

If you are getting an error while using the installer, the cIOS you are using to run the installer maybe corrupt or not compatible.

If there was an error installing an IOS and you received an error,
you may have to use anytitle deleter to remove the IOS that gave an error
and then reinstall it. >> Never delete an IOS lower than IOS200 <<

IOS223 works with MH3, and various music games, and is needed to get the usb microphone recognized in nearly all games that use a microphone. If IOS223 doesn't work with Rock Band games, then try IOS222. Some newer games may require IOS224 [57].

    SOURCE HERE.

Thanks to Hermes for his cIOS installer and Dr Clipper for his nice install guides and apps.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Install Hermes v5.1

uLoader users should install all cIOS from Hermes cIOS installer v5.1, If you are using a different usb loader then install IOS222, 223 from Hermes cIOS installer v4 (above).

Using this installer can install IOS202, 222, 223, 224, install one or all, it's your
choice. If you have previous installs of these IOS's, this installer will overwrite
those previous installs. You will not have to remove or delete any previous
installs. You will need IOS223 (IOS37 base) to boot certain games.

    DOWNLOAD - http://mods.elotrolado.net/~hermes/w...ader_v5.1D.rar

Use this for wifi/network install (your wii is connected to the internet), download from the link above, unzip the rar, look in the apps folder, copy the cios_installer folder to the apps folder of your Wii SD card. Ignore any reference, in the guide, to an ios folder, unless you create your own, for offline install.

    offline install

    Install
I have changed this guide to install the IOS's on an individual basis, the previous
install guide made the user install all of the IOS's. You need IOS236 for this guide.
Look at the top of this post to install IOS236 if you need it. If you installed
IOS222, 223 from above, then do not install from below.

    1. Unplug any GameCube memory card or controller you may have plugged in.
    2. Remove any disc that may be in the disc drive.
    3. Unplug any USB storage device that may be plugged in.
    4. Open homebrew Channel and select the cIOS installer.
    5. Select IOS236 for install, press the "A" button.

    To install IOS202
    1. Select custom IOS 202 v65535 to install, press the "A" button.
    2. Select IOS base, IOS 60, press the "A" button, wait for download.
    3. Press the "1" button to install
    4. When completed, the Homebrew Channel will reboot, this is normal operation.

    To install IOS222
    1. Select custom IOS 222 v65535 to install, press the "A" button.
    2. Select IOS base, IOS 38 (IOS38 is the only option), press the "A" button.
    3. Press the "1" button to install
    4. When completed, the Homebrew Channel will reboot.

    To install IOS223
    1. Select custom IOS 223 v65535 to install, press the "A" button.
    2. Select IOS base, IOS 37, press the "A" button, wait for download.
    3. Press the "1" button to install.
    4. When completed, the Homebrew Channel will reboot.

    To install IOS224
    1. Select custom IOS 224 v65535 to install, press the "A" button.
    2. Select IOS base, IOS 57, press the "A" button.
    3. Press the "1" button to install
    4. When completed, the Homebrew Channel will reboot.

This guide provides the Hermes cIOS Installer v5.1, do not ever use the Hermes cIOS Installer v5, you have been warned.

If you are trying to do an offline install (files on the SD card) and the installer is trying to access the internet, you do not have the file setup correctly on the SD card, review the SD card and make adjustments.

    Thanks goes to

If you want an awesome icon instead of the boring default one, you can download this:

Personally I like the eye candy.

Lol, and it would be even better if I made it.

I used to search for icons because I wanted my HBC to have more (eye) candy that Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. That is one I kept. It is based on Matriculated's icons. They are the best imo.

I just modified it so that you can use it for either version of hermes. I took out v4 and centered 222.

Hopefully this will work well enough.

Edit: I decided to do the same with a 249 one I had. If you make another guide for wanin's cIOS you might want it.

Yea, I was going to use one like that that displayed "cIOS installer", but thought I might use the original png just so the user may find the Hermes installer easier when viewing the HBC.

I've use Matriculated's icons before, nice icons. If you look at my GC guide at WiiHacks, click on the NeoGamma icon.

I made those two in png format so you could pack them with the boot.dol file. Just click on them to download the file.

I can see you are persistent, I will change it soon.

Lol, I didn't mean it like that. I was just saying that you did have an option.
