Wii-U Only Available Through X-Mas at Retailers

Nintendo is taking "final orders" for Wii-U consoles through the end of September for the holidays. Apparently production or at least distribution will then cease through retail channels. The move is in an expectation of the next gen NX being released around end of 1st Quarter, 2017. The story is out of the UK, but if the case likely not limited to that only.

That's really strange. I'd think they'd wait at lease a couple months after release of the NX. I know the Wii U is doing poorly, but several months of zero sales can't be better.

How many retailers do you think will be ordering Wii U's for the holidays? The way it's selling probably not many. Can't believe Nintendo is going to miss out on the holiday crowd.
