    Question About Basics of RGH

    Hi, dumb question, I know.

Can I use the computer to transfer ISOs to the USB Hard Drives assigned to RGH/JTAG XBOX 360s?

Sorry, I don't think we have anybody here anymore that is knowledgeable about xbox stuff. There is the odd chance that one of those guys might see this and pop in and give you an answer but I doubt it.

If you mean transfer through a network that both your computer and Xbox are connected to then yes. It's easy to use an FTP program to connect through a network to your Xbox. But I find it quicker to just plug the USB drive into my computer for transfers of any big files. I also convert all the ISO's to GOD, it saves on space and you can easily browse the file structure if you want.

No, I mean from a computer that stores XBOX 360 ISOs to a USB hard drive and then play it on the XBOX 360 with the USB hard drive.

    Would it work like this?

    1. With a PC, transfer the ISO to the USB hard drive.
    2. Plug the hard drive to a 360.
    3. Play.

Well, then simply yes! Just plug your USB drive into your computer and transfer like you would anything else.

Wait, when you say assigned do you mean you formatted it to the Xbox? Or is it still fat32? In my opinion having it fat32 and putting games into the GOD format is the best way to go.

Well, honestly no. I didn't buy said drive yet. When I said "assigned," I just meant that a drive that will be used for the XBOX 360, nothing more.

    Thanks.

    Now, another question.

If I was to buy a USB hard drive and get my XBOX 360 RGHed/JTAGged, do I install a homebrew program on the USB hard drive so the modded 360 would recognise the games?

You will need Freestyle dash (or I think the newer one is Aurora) installed to either run from the internal drive or USB. I prefer to run it from USB in case there's any issues it's easy to just plug it into the computer to fix it. But none of this matters unless you have an RGH'd xbox360 that's set up right to begin with. That is where a little knowledge is a bad thing. I had Krafter do mine, and then fix mine when I did something stupid..

Once my XBOX 360 is RGHed, is it safe to insert a retail XBOX 360 game with updates?

Is it also safe to play XBOX 360 game backup images that have updates?

    Thanks.
